Who is GSD? “Multi-instrumentalist, producer, Skateboarder and life guru”.
GSD Leonardo Robarts is stepping into new creative territory with his third solo record — his most accomplished and ambitious work to date.
His debut album mixtape, Unmixed unlocked, emerged during the lockdown era: raw, free-spirited, and unapologetically experimental channeling bands like MGMT gained quick ettention. The follow-up, Aquatic Fantastic, saw Robarts explore a more eclectic direction, using the project as a publishing tool while his sound evolved into something wonderfully unpredictable.
Now having completed his third studio album, Leonardo steps into a new level of craft and intention. Collaborating with arranger Bentley Klein (David Byrne, Morcheeba, Big Calm, Paolo Nutini), he blends lush orchestration with intricate guitar work, 90s-inspired breakbeats, Mancunian reverb-soaked vocals, and a distinct sense of dance-driven melancholic euphoria.
Much of the record was shaped during late-night sessions in his home studio, where each track was carefully refined before being passed to Bruno Ellingham, known for his work with Massive Attack. The result marks a bold evolution in Leonardo’s sound.
Following time away from live performances to focus on family, rebuild his studio, and reconnect with creativity away from online pressures, Leonardo wrote over 40 tracks — with just nine making the final cut. What remains is focused, intentional, and deeply expressive.
The album captures a renewed sense of purpose, patience, and playful defiance — a true embodiment of his “get shit done” ethos.
Beautiful, bold, and emotionally charged, the release date remains under wraps — but when it arrives, it won’t go unnoticed.
