Who is GSD? Multi-instrumentalist, producer, Skateboarder and life guru.
GSD Leonardo Robarts is stepping into new creative territory with his third solo record — his most accomplished and ambitious work to date.
His debut album mixtape, Unmixed unlocked, emerged during the lockdown era: raw, free-spirited, and unapologetically experimental channeling bands like MGMT gained quick ettention. The follow-up, Aquatic Fantastic, saw Robarts explore a more eclectic direction, using the project as a publishing tool while his sound evolved into something wonderfully unpredictable.
Now, with his third studio album in the works, Leonardo is embracing a deeper sense of craft and maturity. Collaborating with arranger Bentley Klein (known for his work with Paolo Nutini), he’s been recording lush strings and orchestral arrangements to complement a collection of tracks that blend intricate guitar playing, 90s-inspired breakbeats, reverb-soaked vocals, and dance-driven, melancholic euphoria.
Working late into the night in his home studio, he refines each track before taking it to Headline Music Studios, where he collaborates with Piers Mortimer to run the stems through the tape machine for that final analog warmth.
The project is currently being mixed by Bruno Ellingham, famed for his work with Massive Attack, marking an exciting new chapter in Leonardo’s sonic evolution.
After taking time away from gigging to focus on family life, remodel his home studio, and rediscover the joy of creation without online pressures, Leonardo has written over 40 tracks — though only eight will make the final cut. This album reflects a renewed sense of purpose, patience, and playful defiance, a true embodiment of his “get shit done” mantra.
Expect something beautiful, bold, and emotionally charged. The release date is still under wraps, but when it arrives, you’ll want to be there to experience it — and maybe even dance a little.
